Travelers to North Korea with Korean language skills, did it change/improve your experience and how?

I've heard that some people get the chance to be pretty comfortable around their North Korean tour guides and that they are sometimes willing to do things that are actually not on the schedule. I'm guessing having some knowledge of Korean could even further enhance the possibilities of seeing things that are actually off-limit.

I realise this is a very limited group of people, but if you have got anything to share on the subject, please.
