I am flying from Sacramento, CA to Chicago this Tuesday 07/01/2014. I have a flight booked at 3:00PM that cost me $267 one way. I would like to change the flight to a 7:00am flight. I called Southwest and they said it is a $184 fee to change the flight because prices went up.
My ticket cost $267 at time of purchase. Tickets on both the 7:00am and 3:00pm are now $451. My logic of thinking is that all I want to do is shift my time, my ticket on the 3:00pm flight will come open, and the company will still get the $451, whether its on the 7:00am flight or the 3:00pm flight.
Can anyone lend any advice to me to switch my flight, avoiding this fee?
