I typically use one of well known travel search engines to find my plane tickets. This time, I didn't pull the trigger right away like I usually do. I checked ~72 hours later and the tickets had gone up $80 a piece.
Is there a pattern to the fluctuation of these prices? Are there certain days or times that I should be watching? How close to or far out from the trip should I purchase tickets? Or is it all unpredictable?
Trip info: Heading from Seattle to LAX/Orange County in October.
