I've heard awesome stories of people who have been hired for temporary positions with fishing companies and traveled with them to other countries, other stories of people who biked the panamerican highway and then found various means to get to travel around Asia. I'm plan on traveling to Japan where I have family I will stay with, but I'd like the traveling to be exciting and I know this is the subreddit to ask!
Any and all methods would be great, especially those with experience and possible links! I'm well aware of common couch surfing sites like Airbnb and Couchsurfing but any others would be awesome to include.
