Hey guys, as part of my degree I need to plan somewhere to spend 7 weeks in another country. Ideally I'd like somewhere I could do a little traveling (I'll have weekends, maybe a week block) and somewhere that matches my interests. I've narrowed it down to Japan (ideally) or Vietnam.
I've heard a lot of things that worry me about japan, particularly relating to cost (I'd have loved Tokyo..) and weather (it would be summer months). So essentially, what would 7 weeks in Tokyo cost me? What are the alternative cities where I could have an awesome time (maybe a beach too) and experience japan, with maybe a weekend or so in Tokyo?
