Hi everyone! I'm currently in Tokyo. I am spending a total of 2 weeks in Japan at the end of a 3 months long trip in Asia. I was previously in a remote area in Thailand and had no chance of buying my JR pass in advance. I am also on a budget. I am now spending 4 nights in Tokyo. After that, I will probably take a night bus/train to Kyoto and spend a few days there, then hit up Osaka. I would have love to see a smaller, more traditionnal town but I don't know if I can afford it, it has to be on the way/close to where I am. Anyone has any tips or suggestions on things to do and how to get around on the cheap?
