I'm planning on solo-traveling through SAE, but I only have $2,500 USD to use, minus airfare. Now, I've backpacked before, but I find it difficult to be frugal. Not because I enjoy luxuries, but because I have a pretty passive personality and you're bound to over-pay the first time you visit an area. I've heard stories of people living off $10/day (or whatever) in some places; granted they've been traveling for years, so they have the experience.
So my question is: Is it possible to travel from Laos->Viet Nam->Cambodia->Thailand->Malaysia->Indonesia->Thailand on just the $2,500 USD??? I have money aside for airfare, so $2,500 is for train/bus travel, food, hostels, and activities.
