Vacationing in St. Maarten for a week this August. What should I expect? Any tips for the area?

I will be staying in a beach villa for 6 days during the week. I know to expect it to be very hot. But what should I go out to do? Any spots to cliff dive, enjoy a nice view, or enjoy the environment?
