Hi /r/travel, I'm traveling from Ontario to somewhere in the US this year, because this past weekend I won two round trip tickets to anywhere Air Canada flies in North America. I'm fairly young (15) but the tickets are mine so I can pick where we're going as long as my mother agrees. I don't want to pick somewhere that would be too expensive to stay. The only place we don't want to end up is Disney World in Florida as we've been there once before. It was great but I want to go somewhere different. I just want to make a good decision and have lots to do.
I'm not sure what our budget is unfortunately. Although obviously the cost of the plane tickets is not an issue. We're not looking to spend a lot on where we're staying.. The cheaper of a place we can find the longer we can afford to stay.. My mother has said that if I wanted to stay somewhere a bit nicer we can go on a shorter trip, but I'd rather be there for the week.
We're going for probably the first or second week in September and warm-hot weather is what we're looking for.
The best time we had in Florida was when we stayed out of the parks and went around shopping and we'll probably end up doing lots of that this vacation. I'd rather go out shopping and go to museums and aquariums and beaches and things like that than be in an amusement park.
I really don't know what information you guys need to make good suggestions but I'm afraid this is probably all I have. I'd just like to make a smart decision so we have an enjoyable trip.
