How to find out what days of the week are popular in Vietnam

Starting to backpack through Vietnam and the rest of SE Asia. Is there a way to find out what cities have big nights on what days of the week? Is it like America where Friday and Saturday are big? Does it not matter? Does it vary by country/city?
