Northwest Italy was strongly recomended by a friend due to great hiking, cheaper and lack of big crowds. I like to hike and I love good high alpine spots.
He recommended the Aosta valley as well as Courmayeur. Just wondering if anyone has been through there and has a recommendation. Right now the plan is to fly into Frankfurt (gets us into Europe) and then fly to Turin most likely.
Any recommendations? How to get upto the Aosta valley? We are pressed for time so I don't want to spend too much time on trains.
