Has anyone had any experience with overland trips in southern Africa? I am comparing G Adventures and other prepackaged overland trips with a DIY approach.
I get the distinct impression that the DIY approach would be hard to pull off due to the maze of visa's, entrance fees into the game reserves and parks, and lack of easy un-packaged accommodations. Is this best done with a pre-packaged tour?
