Me and my girlfriend are looking for an interesting and cheap holiday when she returns from 3 months away at the end of September. Currently living in the North East of England.
Places we'd like to avoid - Spain, Greece, France, Germany, UK, US
Length - 5-7 days
Budget - We will probably only have around £1000 each saved up
Climate - Hot and sunny
Interests -
Outdoors: Definitely don't want to be cooked up on a resort so, from most important - Interesting beaches, lakes, open water for boats and boat trips to smaller islands, mountains, woods.
Wildlife: Both interested in animals and wildlife, an animal reserve or something along those lines would be great.
Culture: Would quite like to see a whole new culture, local villages and the like, outdoors is more important however.
Experience - Neither of us speak a foreign language (would definitely learn some key phrases though), would prefer somewhere fairly safe and where language wouldn't be an absolutely massive issue.
I'm aware the budget is very small, but the details are for a dream holiday and sacrificing some stuff for the price would be understandable. Any suggestions for some future holidays on a bigger budget would be welcome too! Thanks
