Here's a quick rundown of the situation.
Background - Fiance has asked me to plan the honeymoon while she tackles most of the wedding. We are very big into history, but also quite a bit into scenery, food, and beer. She decent at speaking German, and I'll probably try to learn a bit as well. To save on tickets and such we want to book flights/rooms about 6 months out. Time - Summer 2015. 2-3 weeks.
Locations- What I have semi planned is Munich, Vienna, Venice, Switzerland. Depending on budget and time constraints we are also looking at Prague.
This is a big trip, and from the first looks quite a bit overwhelming to plan. We do have a good sized budget for it (14k), I'm not a fan of big hotels, and aim to stay in hostels or B&B type locations that can help us experience the culture. We want to pack light and hit the cities and surrounding areas hard.
Ok, now for my questions. I would LOVE for some advice for any of these areas. Restaurant, activities, and hostel recommendations would be invaluable.
I'm completely lost in where to go in Switzerland. Some where near the mountains would be cool, but I know nothing of the cities and would value some input if you have been/live there!
