I just moved to South Korea from Canada and am quickly coming up on my first vacation- so I will be able to travel from the Seoul area from July 26-August 3. I am decently well travelled, having been to 7 European countries on different occasions, and most recently spent 2 weeks travelling solo in Mexico. What I'm looking for in a destination would be something similar to Tulum, laid back, relatively undeveloped, and accessible. Something less touristy than Tulum is also very appealing.
My priorities for this trip are the ocean, scenery, local foods, and history/culture(I would love to see some temples). I would be interested in doing some kayaking or snorkelling as well, but they aren't requirements. And while I do enjoy a cold beer, things like full moon parties, clubbing, and general crowdedness are at the bottom of my list.
I will be travelling with a girl friend and although we would like to meet other like minded travellers(not party animals) we would ideally like to stay in some kind of bungalow as opposed to shared accommodations like a hostel. Things like round the clock power, hot water, and internet access are not important, but a few hours a day would be considered a perk.
As I am an indebted ESL teacher budget is relatively important to me and I'd like to spend around $1500 CAD or about 15,000,000 won.
As far as I can tell my cheapest flight option is Bangkok via Seoul with Eastarjet(~$600CAD), but I'm not sure how to get to where I want to go from there? So any advice on flying into a country and finding an island/coastal area would be much appreciated.
