any advice would be helpful.
i have done some initial planning. i am going to be going from nebraska to yosemite from 8/7-8/17. during this time will be spent driving. i should arrive around 8/9 and head back 8/14. im flexible by about a day either way. this is the time i was able to get off for vacation. i looked in to booking a tent site on the yosemite website and missed out, so i will either be trying to get one of those spots that are open daily, or figuring something else out. i would love to be in the park grounds if that is at all possible.
essentially this is my "call of the wild" adventure i have decided. i want to spend time reconnecting with nature and roughing it. no cell phone, etc. i don't have any experience camping alone, but that is preferable. i found a pretty good camping checklist. the plan is to pack as light as possible, and my shopping list is geared towards that.
i thought i would post to see if anyone has any experience with not making the tent reservation at yosemite or with camping/backpacking alone. thanks guys!
