Hey guys, I've lurked for many man years, but have never actually asked a question. After reading through so many incredible threads about backpacking and eastern europe, I feel I can't pass up an opportunity to source you guys for some amazing advice. Thanks in advance!
Just some backstory: We are both in our late twenties (Asian-American) and are really excited about visiting Central/Eastern Europe together (neither of us have been). I've backpacked 2months in western europe 8 years ago (by myself), but I'm sure much about the experience has changed since then (pre-smart phone!). My fiance hasn't backpacked europe before, but she's tough and has spent time alone in Asia. We will be there from July 1- Sept 3. We will probably warm up a little bit in Western Europe, but want to spend most of our time East of Austria. Eventually, we will fly home from Istanbul. I CAN'T WAIT!
The main question: Is there anything we should know as a couple before embarking on this trip? Any great suggestions for couple-centric adventures? How do hostel beds work for couples? sleeper trains? The last time I went, I went by myself and can't remember meeting too many newlyweds on the trip. I'm sure it's basically the same, but any pieces of advice that can make this newlywed couple have a special time would be greatly appreciated!
