Hi, I'm looking for a place to rent for the summer in Rome and I found a good prospect. Rent is 350 Euros and the place looks great but he's asking for a security deposit of 300 Euros. Is this normal?

Any advice that anyone can give me for renting in another country would be great because I know there are a lot of scams out there. I will be renting the place for one month starting in July.
