Hi, So some background on me: I am currently 16, I speak only English and can understand and read a fair amount of Spanish. I have never been out of the state of Florida in the U.S. and haven't traveled farther than the Tampa Bay area. I plan on either back-packing or taking a road trip across the United states (probably road-tripping it in my car). I'm doing the U.S. because I live here and literally everyone speaks English, but given my ignorance of every state, I want some advice on the best places to visit in each state.
I'm taking a "Gap year" (maybe a bit less than a year) because I will have my A.A. degree when I'm eighteen and want to experience something other than Florida before /real/ college happens.
I want to know what places are awesome to visit in each state, and major cities and what-not to visit. I will be starting from the most west part of Florida and working up. How much money should I save up?
I appreciate any advice and any story telling on those who have traveled here.
