19F with ~$1000 budget, from Canada looking for travel suggestions! (more details in comments)

Hello lovely people of /r/travel,

So I'm planning my first solo trip and I'm having trouble deciding on where to go!

My ~$1000 budget would be excluding flight costs, just to be clear. I have a very strong inclination towards the outdoors, my initial plans were to visit somewhere Scandinavian/Western European(Germany, Switzerland, Austria), basically my idea has been somewhere with a similar landscape to this I really enjoy hiking, swimming, paddling, all of that great outdoors stuff. I'm also a big fan of all things visual arts - film, theater, dance, music. I love to dance but wouldn't consider myself much of a "partier" not sure if this is important in regards to travel or not! I like to drink/smoke on occasion but for me this is a pretty unusual occasion. I hope this is enough details.

I realize that these would probably be pretty far out of my price range unless I was only planning on staying for a couple days, coming all the way from Canada seems kind of useless.

I guess I'm looking for a nice middle of these places with less steep prices? Maybe this is a big demand, I'm not sure! I've looked into countries like Chile and Argentina, as they offer some beautiful scenery, however after speaking to my parents in regards to that idea, I feel as though they would be more comfortable if I were to go to a "first world" country, as this is my first time travelling and I am still quite young. Not naive necessarily but I do have much to learn.

My apologies for the grammatical errors, English is not my first language! :P

Thank you all so much for your time!!!! xo Any and all answers at all would be so so appreciated. Bisous.
