My girlfriend needs to get from Guatemala to Belize. She's going to end her trip in Guatemala with a trip to Tikhal, so I'm looking at two options for getting to Belize -- 1) Going from Flores to San Ignacio via Bus and 2) Going from Livingston to Punta Gorda via boat.
Has anyone done either of these, and which do you think is the best in terms of 1) Safety and 2) Convenience? I assume neither are very expensive, so cost isn't much of a concern, and the Tikhal trip stops in both Flores and Rio Dulce on the way back, so either way is just as easy from the Guatemala side, I think.
