I'm doing a lot of reaserch for an upcoming trip July 6-19th. I am spending a week in and around Berlin, and then we have a flight home from Zurich. We(2 of us) were originally looking to rent a car, but most travel forums suggest that is not the best idea, particularly in Czech territory.
That said, I am trying to estimate costs on trains and have a couple questions.
Do people usually book trains in advance or just get them at the station? will the "savings fare" on bahn.com be the same online and when I get to the station day of? We are looking to go Berlin->prague-> hallstatt, Austria to Zurich. and the prague to hallstatt leg wont give us prices on Bahn, but romet2rio.com suggests that is about $102, giving price of each leg. How reliable are these prices?
