To preface my questions: I have searched the sidebar and read numerous threads on traveler's insurance.
First up: When looking up a quote for your trip, does the destination matter? For instance, I plan to start my trip with a few days in London, but will be traveling all over Europe from there.
Second: Trip's total cost. I'm assuming this figure is requested so the company can provide a reimbursement amount incase your trip is cancelled, but what does it matter if you plan to backpack with no set itinerary (everything being purchased on the go)? If it doesn't matter, would you fill this field with "$0"?
Finally: I am a US citizen and I have seen many different travel insurance companies spoken about in this subreddit, but I also have seen many posts about rejected claims. From your personal experience, for those who have had to make claims (specifically medical, but open to all forms) what is a trustworthy company to purchase travel insurance from?
