A friend and I will be in Spain from the U.s. for two weeks next month. I'm all set with my cell phone coverage but my friend is not (he's a Sprint customer, can't get the phone unlocked and even if he could, they charge a fortune). Just wanted to see if anyone has recommendations on a best option for phone service that would ideally include a limited data plan, but he can get by on talk/text if data is cost-prohibitive.
I've taken a quick look at domestic pre-paid plans but nothing looks reasonable (but I realize we may be overlooking something). Is his best option to buy a prepaid phone in Spain once we get there?
