What places/things to do would you recommend? I would prefer to avoid the hard core tourist-y stuff as much as possible, but I'd still love to go to them. It's all about having a good experience, immersing myself in the culture and not hurting my bank account too much. Heck, if they're free, there's a 98% chance I'll go to it just to have an experience even if it ends up being shite.
The trip is planned for February next year and it feels like it's all in the baby planning stages and it's hella far away but it's really not. But I'm just freaking excited about this. The cities and the duration of the trip are not set in stone, but that's the idea. It looks like we're hitting up GC/Brisbane more since they're quite close but I'm slowly planting the idea of flying to Sydney as well. So far: * -Botanic Garden- Sydney or Brisbane 1 * -Minnamurra Rainforest and like finding some good tramping places 2 * -The Three Sisters 3 * -Gallery of Modern Art and the Cultural Centre in general 4 * -Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary 5 * -Theme parks and the beaches 6
The budget is around AUD 2000.
Not a lot, but it's what we've got so far. I would really prefer to stay for a good, long amount of time. But my traveling people don't necessarily share the same attitude about it, so again, I'm slowly planting the idea of a longer trip and lots of cool stuff to do/see into everyone's mind. (Side note: I feel like I'm more excited for this than everyone else put together. I can just see this ending up as me planning everything and everyone else just going along, and I don't want that. God, I hope half of them drop out. I'm not even that great friends with most of them.)
Also, if there are places that you think are a bit overrated or just not worth it or anything like that. Stuff we should just do/not do to make the trip easier. Seriously, any info would be great.
Sorry if I was a little ramble-y
