First time flying alone

Hello. For a few months now my family and I have been discussing going to Florida for the summer. I live in Kentucky, and despite the flight not being too long, I am still worried. I am fourteen and going upon these flights I have always played follow the leader. Huddled next to my cousins and mother, simply chasing after her in a rushed hurry. It seems stressful, especially since it is my time to finally board the plane alone. I have read the links and information in the sidebar, yet am still curious about some things. This might be a longish post, full of idiotic questions. There is a TL;DR included at the bottom for the lazy.

What are the restrictions on what I am to pack? I understand no liquids or canisters or food. I will be packing a book bag sized bag for my personals, along with a carry on full of things such as clothing and whatnot. Also, what happens to the larger of the bags, my suitcase? Should I take this on the plane to go on the overhead? I apologize if these are stupid questions, as I was the type to have my nose in a book or handheld video game and tugged along.

How should I keep myself calm during the flight? I have anxiety and tend to hyperventilate when getting too fearful. I'm trying to keep organized and well planned before the flight to prevent this. As someone with many fear problems, I image the worst. The plane crashing, some ridiculous and over blown weapon being flashed out onboard and murder of us all. Call these fears of one with a young, broad mind, but they are enough to get me breathing heavily.

What will happen when I walk into the airport? Where should I go first, and what is going to happen there? Next what should I do, so on and so on until I am close to getting to my flight? And what should happen when I get off? I am very new to doing this alone, and never paid any attention. Is there a certain seat I must sit on? For example aisle A, seat three ?Or is the seat up like a bus where you may randomly sit anywhere so long as nobody is disturbed?

I know the saying of airport food being expensive. How expensive, and will any free food be offered? I have always at least been given a package of peanuts and a cup of water, is this true for every flight?

TL;DR What are the restrictions on what to pack, and what happens to my luggage that isn't my carry on?

How should I keep myself calm during the flight, as someone with fear problems such as anxiety?

Exactly, step by step, what will happen when I first walk into the airport? Are there specifications to the seating?

Is any free food offered, and just how expensive is airplane food?

Again I apologize for any stupid questions. Being young, I know my grammar and punctuation isn't the greatest, I'm sorry for that as well. If any of my questions are unclear don't be afraid to ask me more about them. Thank you for taking the time to read this and offer help, also being patient with the many flaws of this.
