Due to a lack of family these days, my wife and I are looking into options for trip on Christmas. We're not really into Christmas in general so we're not interested in overly wintery places with lots of celebrations going on. We were thinking Hawai'i but after some research it seems everyone goes there during that time of the year.
Plans are flexible, since we're in planning stages right now. Budget will be $3k or so. Not really into couch-surfing/hostels for this trip. We live in Portland, Oregon and have no experience with travel outside of the US.
