Hey guys, sorry if this might not be relevant in any way.. Not really sure where to ask this question.
I'm traveling to the UK for 3 weeks from Canada. I'm leaving at the end of this month, so naturally I am trying to figure out how to get a phone there...
I have an iPhone, but I'm locked under a contract for another year. I'm not sure if getting it unlocked is even legal if I'm still under a contract? Also, the WiFi on my iPhone does not work at all. So apps are pretty much out of the question.
My other option is to buy a cheap GSM phone and a GSM SIM card, but do I buy those here or when I arrive in London?
I've never been there before and the last thing I want is to be stuck without a phone, as I'm staying with family and will need to be able to contact them/people I meet there, so if you guys have any input on what I should do or what you did on your travels - that would be amazing! :)
