I am after some destination suggestions. We are currently in Australia and have spent a great deal of time in SE Asia over the last few years.
In October we will be going to Scotland to visit family. After that we had been planning to spend a few months somewhere in Europe but we are not sure that we can face the winter. We have traveled in Europe during winter before but after 2-3 years near the equator we don't even own any winter clothes anymore.
Can anyone recommend one or more places that are vaguely over that way (ie not back in Asia) that are pleasant, warm and where we could conceivably spend some time while we wait ~6 months for the European winter to pass.
Decent net connectivity is required so any remote islands are out, no matter how beautiful.
