Hello, /r/travel!
The wife and I were married in May and we are about to embark on our honeymoon. We arrive in Cartagena, Colombia on August 5th. We're spending 3 or 4 days in Cartagena then heading out to Tayrona Parque for 3 days. We know we want to spend at least 4 days in Bogota which we fly out of on August 25 to the next part of the trip (5weeks in Europe!)
So there's a giant hole in our itinerary that needs filling . My wife doesn't want to fly from Cartagena to Bogota so we're looking for suggestions on places to stop at for a couple days in between the two cities. Or maybe it would be better to bite the bullet and fly?
She loves her wine, coffee and relaxation. I like my culture, food and sights. We are on a little bit of a budget but willing to splurge if we think it is worth it. We have 4000 budgeted for Colombia but the less we spend the more we have later.
