Further information: I'm a UK citizen, and I'm heading to the States next month for a coast to coast trip run by an adventure group. It finishes in New York where my best friend is currently living and my plans are to stay with her for a week or two when arriving, then head into Canada for a couple of weeks before flying back from Toronto.
As it stands, I have not booked myself a return flight because I'm not 100% sure of how long I'll be across there for. I have already paid for my ESTA and am aware of the time limit on staying in the U.S under that. (90 days) I will be heading into Canada after around 35 - 40 days in the States, so I'm well within the time frame.
My issue is that I have no proof of onward travel just now. And I've tried searching for information about this online and keep coming up with conflicting answers.
Does anybody know the official policy here? Or at least where I can find this information out?
The last thing I want is to be denied entry upon arrival for not having proof of onward travel since the first part of my travels is an organised tour that obviously wouldn't wait for me.
Thanks.
