South America trip Oct - Dec 2014 - what should I expect?

I've never been to South America, so have no idea what to expect. I'm thinking of going on an Intrepid tour for 63 days which takes in Peru, Bolivia, Argentina & Brazil and would like to know what its like to travel there?
