I've got about a week in August between the end of work & the beginning of term, & I desperately want to travel! Any tips on what's worth seeing if I've only got about 5 days (+ travel time on either side) to do it?
Details:
- I'm a 20-year old girl planning to travel alone (first solo trip!!)
- I live in Canada, & ideally want to get out of North America (but am open to suggestions within it!)
- I've been to Australia & Hong Kong, & as amazing as they both are, I really want to see somewhere new
- I'm avoiding mainland Europe, because I want waaaay more than 5 days when I do go there
- I'm not that interested in resort-style vacations, & really want the chance to tour/explore
- Cool landscapes (mountains, volcanoes, glaciers, jungles, etc.) are a bonus, but I'm open to big cities as well
- I'm a university student, so budget is an issue; that said, I'm definitely willing to spend money where I need to
- My dream destination is Iceland, but I'm not sure that 5 days is enough time to make the trip worthwhile?
Keeping the above in mind, virtually the entire world is on my bucket list, so I'm more than open to all suggestions! Any tips on where to go/what to see for the week that I'm there?
Thanks so much in advance!
