[Not quite a vacation] [Throw some ideas at me] Acquiring a new skill for a few months in SEA?

Hey guys. Looking for ideas from internet strangers, and this seems like a good place to ask. Please direct me to a better subreddit if there is one!

So here's the deal. I'm a US citizen with one of those online web job things, and I'm getting a little antsy, both geographically and, well, skill-wise. It's been a while since I've last learned something new, and I miss it. And I was thinking, heck, I could go live in a country where the cost of living is relatively low, keep on doing my job on the internet and take up something cool (not necessarily useful, it's just for the sake of learning something new). I dunno, scuba diving? Learning how to drive a boat? A helicopter?

(I know, technically I'm not supposed to work abroad, but I've done it plenty of times and it's not like I can possibly get in any kind of trouble since I'm just sitting at a computer in a hostel or coffee shop like any other regular guy updating his Facebook or writing his blog)

So, like, got any ideas? If you just make suggestions, I can totally go and do my homework. Do you need a special kind of visa to undergo training? What could I do that might take a few months to a year? I wish it were as simple as answering the "well, what do you like doing" question, but sometimes things don't occur to you until someone suggests them.

I'm male, in my early 30s, not out of shape, have about 20k in the bank (but I'm not planning on spending it all) and can earn more provided I have an Internet connection and a few hours free each day. Language might obviously be an issue, since I only speak English and a little Spanish.

Thanks!
