My girlfriend and I love going places on our anniversary. I've always liked it because it was a cost effective present, I didn't have to get her anything and I could participate in the present with her! We love hiking, or seeing unforgettable sights. I've taken her to Letchworth State Park, Pittsburgh, Presque Isle, Niagara Falls, Cape Hatteras, among many other places.
I wanted to bring her to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. But I was told, after weeks of procrastination in the frugality department for the anniversary date, that I was going to be laid off on July 11th. So now I'm low on funds! I need to not go too far.
What place does /r/travel recommend that is in a 200-300 mile radius of Erie, Pennsylvania? What activities do you recommend I do there with her there (hiking, rafting, fishing, eating out)? Is there any fun spots that I have to check out while there (historical, entertainment, etc.)?
