Girlfriend and I booked a 3 week vacation -
IAD -> FCO FCO -> TLV TLV -> IAD
We're currently in Florence, obviously our flight to TLV was canceled. They're telling me that the only option is to request a refund for the unused portion of my trip (We won't find out how much the value of that is until we accept it, by the way. The service rep said it could be $200 and it could be $1300). We paid $1500 for the whole trip 6+ months ago.
Currently flights back home to IAD are $1700+, requiring 17+ hours to travel with 2 stops.
HELP!! Does anyone have experience with Lufthansa? What can I do in this situation?? They're telling me that I can rebook my flight and write to customer service after I get home, and MAYBE get some portion of a refund.
