For our final summer before university, 6 of us have decided to fulfill our dreams and visit Europe for 3 weeks but obviously money is tight and we would not want to spend too much more than about £1000. We would be going from perhaps 10th July - 1st August 2015.
As far as I can tell, a rail pass seems the best option, and including this in the costs leaves us with maybe £650 for accommodation and food.
Accommodation is currently the big problem here. How cheap can hostels get? What sorts are the best? Is it possible to camp part of the journey?

Are there any other places you would recommend?
Most importantly, is this dream achievable? If not, what adjustments can we make to this plan to make it possible?
