I'm renting a car Aug 5th in San Fran and plan to go to Napa, Yosemite, Las Vegas, Grand Canyon and then fly out of Phoenix on the 18th. A two week car rental is relatively cheap if you drop off at the same place you rented but the drop fee seems to be a standard $1,000 charge. If I have to pay it might ruin my entire trip. Has anyone had any luck getting out of the drop fee?
