I flew to Toronto from Washington D.C. yesterday with my brother as we had planned a weekend trip to see a soccer game. Just as I went through customs, I realized that I somehow had left my US passport on the plane (Air Canada flight) I reported it immediately to the airline, and filed a lost and found claim. So far, nothing has turned up.
My flight home leaves Monday morning. My question is, what are my options if my passport does not show up? The consulate does not open until Monday. I would really like to get home on Monday.
Some options I've considered: \ 1.) Show up at the airport on Monday and hope that someone has found it, or that they will let me on the flight.
2.) Take a bus to Buffalo and fly home from there. I'm not sure if I can get across the border on a bus with only a driver's license though.
Any help would be appreciated.
