From Southern CA to NYC. Just outta sheer wanderlust really. I'm 21, have never traveled far alone, no job (but have enough saved up for gas/food/motels), quit going to college, and have nothing left for me in this small town I live in.
I've hit quite a plateau in life this last year and I've always had to desire to travel, but never thought much about it. I'm kind of thinking of this trip as a "coming of age" or sort of a journey to show myself that I'm capable of getting out of this bubble I live in and be independent. The idea of just driving and driving with no real destination scares me quite a bit, but at the same time is totally intriguing.
What I'd like to get out of this: - I'm big on tattoos, so I'd like to stop at unique/popular parlors to get some done. - Meet new people and girls. - Decent sightseeing - Feel refreshed in life
I don't mind staying in motels along the way, but they kinda give me the creeps. How legal/safe is it to sleep out of my car? Best places to park and sleep?
Really, I'm just posting to hear from people who've done the same thing. Share you stories with me. I might just be being naive, but this is something I'd really like to do.
