2 of us are flying into San Francisco for a 10 day trip. Our plan is to wander around the San Francisco area for 3 days, visit Yosemite for 2-3 days, then travel around Big Sur before heading back to San Francisco for our last couple of days. I'm looking for any and all suggestions on food, lodging, and sites to see.
Food: We've already decided we must visit The House of Prime Rib. Amazing seafood is another thing we are looking forward to. If you have a suggestion for a cheap but delicious meal that I must eat at a hole in the wall sandwich shop, we are into it. I will never turn down the greatest burger ever, as well. Also, coffee. I. Love. Coffee. And I especially love coffee shops with a great and unique atmosphere.
Destinations: There's a lot that we would love to see in that area so this is flexible. Mainly, we want to see all the different beautiful landscapes, hence the Yosemite and Big Sur visits. Our friend also suggested checking out Point Reyes. I'm wondering what everyone else's favorite stops are.
Hotels: Our budget for hotels/lodging we would like to keep at $150/night, lower if at all possible. We will be renting a car once we leave San Francisco and make our way to Yosemite so if there are places to stay just outside of our desired destinations that are cheaper but not too bad of a commute that is fine. Mainly, I am wondering where the best place to stay when visiting Yosemite would be. We looked at Curry Village which I thought looked great but my travel partner wasn't too keen on the idea. Any other suggestions?
