So, I've never really taken a trip apart from family vacations, and in about a month I'll be going to NC to visit a friend. This doesn't seem overly complicated but I just want to make sure there's nothing I'm overlooking.
Where I'm staying is already covered. I havn't booked the flight yet but I figure it'll be ok to book through Expedia, I'll be flying from Buffalo to RDU. I don't know what my budget should be but I think a couple hundred cash would be alright, while also bringing my credit card with a good limit (I should phone the bank and let them know there might be charges from NC?)
I want to travel as light as possible, ie. not bring a suitcase that I'd have to check. Is it possible to bring a backpack and another bag onto the plane?
Lastly, I'm going to rely mostly on my friend to show me around but if there's anything somebody who knows the area can suggest to do/visit, I'd def consider it.
