I'm planning to go to either Colombia or Ecuador in a few months from now. The flight tickets for both are approx the same on regular airlines, but I did find a killer deal with Spirit Airlines for Colombia. Since I'm going for an all of 2 weeks, I don't know if I should be relying on Spirit Airlines to take me there and bring me back on time.
What do you guys think?
1) Should I consider Spirit Airlines at all? Has anyone flown with Spirit into Colombia - How was it? I've taken Spirit once before (very short flight), and it was ok. I'm aware of the hidden fees.
2) Ecuador vs Colombia. Which do you prefer? I like: local culture, mixing with local people, beautiful scenery (I probably won't hike for more than a day anywhere), want to at least stop in 1 town which is a party town (on a beach somewhere perhaps?), and I want to meet other travelers as well. Any recommendations?
