I'm doing international student exchange with the University of Hull and I'm working on my Visa application, but I had a few questions which I can't find answers to online, and it's been a nightmare trying to find anyone to help me from their website.
My questions are all about the financial portion of the Visa - proving that I can pay for courses and support myself.
Is there an amount of money I will need to show as a lump sum to show that I can support myself?
My tuition and books will be paid for by a state-run organization in Florida, and I have signed documentation from them stating that they will do so. Will having tuition and books covered count towards the total I need to show?
How would scholarships factor in?
Do I need to show my funds in a checking account in particular? Can it be a savings, money market or brokerage account? Will a letter of credit be acceptable?
My grandparents are planning on supporting me for most of the trip, but I am not a legal dependent of my grandparents. Could I use their account to show financial ability, and if so will I need a letter?
I realize this is a lot, but it would be extremely helpful if any of these questions had a clear answer. If not, it would be great if anyone knew how, besides the expensive phone line, I could get in touch with UK Visa agents.
